WAYS TO WRITE A TITLE of a Poem
- Have the title include an idea or theme (ex. Death, Divorce, Love) that sheds major light on and gives deeper meaning to the poem.
- Have the title give data about where/when the poem was written, or where/when it takes place.
- Make the title one of the most important lines in the poem.
- Have the title be the first line of the poem (without repeating it).
